Boosterthon Fun Run Coming Friday September 30th, 2022
FUN RUN RESULTS 2022: We raised over 90,685 dollars with 2022 Fun Run as of 10/10/2022 we have collected 87,014 which means we get to keep around 68,000. WAY TO GO!!! THANK YOU EVERY ONE FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!!!
For those of you familiar to our school, you know we thrive ton having ONE fundraiser and making it as fun as we can! for those of you who may be new to northwest, we have a reputation for getting fundraising done in a single task so we can focus on our time and efforts on what is important---our children! We would love for this to be our only fundraiser again this year, and that is our plan. Plain and simple--if we meet our goal there will be no more traditional fundraisers. We are asking students, parents and teachers to go all out to get sponsors and raise funds so that we can spend the rest of the year having the necessary funds to provide the much needed programs for our students and school, and avoiding the hassle of selling items.
That being said, we are excited to kick off the Fun Run this week. This fundraiser is fun and easy. While teaching our children about the importance of Fitness, Leadership, and Character, we will raise money. In the past, we used the profit from the fun run to fund teacher grants allowing the teachers to purchase additional classroom supplies that would otherwise pay for out of their pockets, bought basketball goals, and picnic tables for outside for students to be able to use daily, Chromebooks and charging carts ensuring every child in our school had a Chromebook so they didn't have to share, paved our track, purchased mulch for the playground and provided upkeep to the track, helped purchase programs for online and remote learning, bought books for the library, funded events and provided supplies for students (Runner's Club, Talent Show, Robotics, Battle of the Books, Mad Science, etc), and more.
This year we plan to use the money for purchasing Guided Leveled Readers (physical books to help our students for every grade from Kindergarten through 5th grade!), supplement programs including Brainpop, Scholastic, Flocabulary, Raz Kids, and Lexia. Work toward placing money in a fund for playground improvements and equipment, and support the special enrichment teams to provide services for speech, EC, AIG, Music, PE, Art, and Guidance. Together these items cost over $35,000 to $45,000 a year. We hope to be able to continue to provide funds for our teachers and students to have supplies and programs they need again this year.
Our goal for this years Fun Run is $50,000+ in pledges which will earn the school a profit of at least $37,500. We can do this!!! In years before the fun run we have collected more than $50,000 with our fundraisers, but only kept 30-35% of the profit. With Boosterthon, we keep 75%. Simply, we get to keep more than double the money we bring in. In years past we have raised over
$75,000 (which is truly amazing) and as always, we put every penny of profit back into the school. We know it seems like a big goal, but we have done it the last 6 years, and the monies have been put to immediate use in the school. We want parents to keep in mind too, that if you break it down--if each student in the school got total pledges of $3/lap, we would easily meet our goal. This could be 3 sponsors of $1/lap, or 6 sponsors of $0.50/lab etc. it IS doable! Think about it this way 575 students, $3/lap (or $90 total in pledges/donations=$51,750. Each child working toward this goal is what makes it doable.

3) Mulch for around the school including playground area
4) Concrete for sensory area for school.
Outdoor fun run Schedule Friday Sept, 30th, 2022
We will be set up outdoors in the fields in back of the school inside of the new track!!
8:15-8:45 Kindergarten
9:00-9:30 3rd Grade
9:45-10:15 1st Grade
10:30-11:00 4th Grade
11:15-11:45 5th Grade
12:00-12:30 2nd Grade
***In the event of inclement weather, an indoor event/rain schedule will be in place. Please note that if the event is indoors, visitors will not be allowed to attend. If the event is moved indoors, this will be announced ahead of time.
Fun Run Day Visitor Rules and Guidelines
--Visitors are to park in the parking spaces behind the playground and in designated parking spaces
--Vistors will be required to check in at a registration sign in table and wear a name tag while on school grounds
--Visitors will have a designated viewing area. We kindly ask that you remain in this area before, during, and after the event.
--Students will remain with their class for the entire event, and will return inside the school at the completion of the Fun Run.
Past Fun Run Accomplishments:
2021-2022:
1) Providing each teacher with grant money that they can use towards their classrooms
2) Online Learning subscriptions
3) Keeping Technology up to date ie. Chromobooks etc.
2019-2020:
Purchased Chromebooks and Charging Carts
Paved the Track
Purchased 30 Virtual Reality Gear so the teachers and librarians can use as they need with their classes.
The PTO has also been able to give extra support to our PE, Art, Music, Speech, EC Programs and our Robotics and Battle of the Books Teams!

Here was what our current track looked like. We used the Fun Run proceeds to pave this so that our students will be able to have a nice area to use for Runner's club and when they are at recess.
